During last night intense storm members handled numerous call for service. Calls started coming in shortly before 8:00pm and continued through the night. We operated at various water conditions, natural gas leaks, fire alarms and stranded motorists due to street flooding. We also answered mutual aid requests for both Berkeley Heights Fire Department and City of Summit Fire Department.

We’d like to remind the public to stay vigilant when storms like these do occur:
• Monitor watches and warnings from the National Weather Service before going outside.
• Never attempt to drive through street flooding.
• Keep an eye on sump pumps and property conditions.
